14 Days until Jordan and I take off from the starting line in the 2018 Air Race Classic!

This year’s race will begin in Sweetwater, TX and travel across twelve different states stopping in nine cities covering 2,308 nautical miles. Once again, there will be approximately 55 teams including 22 collegiate teams. Many of the teams include professional airline pilots with thousands of hours. According to the Air Race Classic website, “The Air Race Classic is the epicenter of women’s air racing. Pilots range in age from 17 to 90 years old. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds including students, teachers, doctors, airline pilots, business owners, professionals and air traffic controllers. Race teams, consisting of at least two women pilots, must fly VFR during daylight hours only and are given four days to make flybys at each en route timing point and then land at the terminus.”

We are very grateful for having this opportunity to meet and learn from the amazing female pilots who are participating or volunteering for the race. Last year was our first time racing and we made MTSU proud by being the first team from our university to ever complete the race.
